FAQ's
Frequently Asked Questions
Will your Retro Shower™ or Retro Door™ work in my tub?
Chances are yes it will. Our Retro Shower™ or Retro Door™ system can be installed into any fiberglass, acrylic, steel, or cast iron tub. Typically, the only exceptions are tubs that have liners installed in them, plastic tubs and claw footed tubs.
How long does the resurfacing process take?
As long as there are no shower doors to remove, the time to resurface a tub or a 38″ x 38″ shower takes about 4 hours and a tub/shower unit takes around 5 hours. These are typical times – the actual time could vary.
After resurfacing, how long do I have to wait until I can use my shower again?
The curing process takes 24 hours before your tub or shower can be used again. During the preparation process, we remove any caulking from around the unit and some of the fixtures, and this will also need to be replaced before your tub or shower is used. As such, we recommend waiting for 24 hours if possible.
Do you sell do-it-yourself kits?
Not currently, but we are in the process of building one for the “do-it-yourselfer.”
